He was the youngest President of the Indian Dental Association Head Office and has also been the President of The Indian Orthodontic Society. Dr. U.S. Krishna Nayak is the Recognized Ph.D Guide in the Speciality of Orthodontics in the entire Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka.  He is one of the Member of Board of Studies in Dental Surgery at Mangalore, Calicut Universities and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. He is the Senate Member and Member of Finance Committee at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. Dr. Nayak is an Overseas Examiner at Maurus Dental College at Mauritius. Dr. Nayak has attended and actively participated in most of the National & International Dental & Orthodontic Conferences like, 23rd Asian Pacific Dental Congress held at Seoul, Korea in April 2002, FDI World Dental Conference held at Dubai in September 2007 and Brazil in 2010 etc. His selfless contribution to the profession and the community have fetched him awards galore, the most important ones being ‘The Fellowship of Indian Board of Orthodontics’ in the year 2000 for Excellence  in Clinical Orthodontics, ‘ Indian Dentist of the Year’ award in 2001, ‘Karnataka State Rajyotsava’ award, the highest civilian award given by the state government in the year 2003, which also makes him the first person in the field of Dentistry to receive it and most recently he has been conferred with ‘ The Man of the Year in Dental Health’ for 2008 "By the American Biographical Society" which probably recognizes all his contributions in a most comprehensive manner.
